Obituary of Edwin Roy Peterson
Peterson, Edwin Roy - Age 75, Little Narrows, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Edwin was born in Middle River; he was a son of Eleanor Mae (Nicholson) Peterson and the late Edward D. Peterson.
Born and raised in Middle River and lived most of his life on Gairloch Mtn Rd., then moving to Little Narrows later in life. Edwin was a son, husband, brother and uncle that was loved by all. He was full of life and always up to mischievous shenanigans. He was very family oriented and was always willing to help in anyway. He was employed by the Cape Breton Regional School Board for 40 + years, starting as a driver and mechanic in Baddeck. Retiring as a transportation manager at the school board.
Edwin is survived by his mother, Eleanor Peterson; sisters, Linda (John) Campbell, Cathy (Angus “Buddy”) Dauphney, all of Middle River; Debbie (David) MacInnis, Breton Cove; Marlene (George) Maufort, Middle River; brothers, Nelson (Joan) Peterson, Big Baddeck; David (Tanya) Peterson, Middle River; Nieces and nephews, Cindy, Derrick. Amanda, Adam, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Ashley, Steven, Devin, Chloe, Charlene, Donna, Gerard, Lorraine, Danny, and Michael; aunts, Lucy Chisholm and Florence MacCuspic; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Charles) Ellis, Mora (Dougie) Nicholson both of Little Narrows, and Phyllis MacDonald, Central Onslow.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Claire (MacDonald) Peterson; his father, Edward; brother, Robert; father and mother-in-law, Alexander and Cecilia MacDonald; brother-in-law, Donald J. MacDonald.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from noon until time of funeral service at 1:15 p.m. both in St. Columba Roman Catholic Church, Iona with Father Vincent Ozonoh officiating. Burial in McKinnon’s Harbour Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Edwin to Hospice Society of Victoria County, Baddeck.
