Obituary of Jason Andrew Paul

Please share a memory of Jason to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Paul, Jason Andrew - Age 49 of We’koqma’q First Nation.  It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jason Andrew Paul on Tuesday, March 26 in QE II, Halifax Infirmary.  Jason was born in Inverness on February 5, 1975 to the late Michael John and Geraldine Cecilia “Mulch” (Googoo) Paul.

Jay is survived by his children, Leon Paul, Hope Paul, J.D. Paul, Roman Paul; brothers, Michael John (Shannon) Paul and Harrison Grant (Shawla) Paul all of We’koqma’q, nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Vincent Martin Jr., Lucky Basque, Presley Bernard, Earl Gould, Godparents, John Toney and Annie Jane Toney and best friend April Johnson.  Jay is now at Peace, joining his parents and brother Dwayne and all his aunts and uncles.

Jay was beloved by everyone whoever met him, a great friend to all walks of life.  No matter the circumstance, you would always leave with a story of something funny or crazy that Jay did while you were with him.

Jason was unique, there will never be another like him.  His huge smile could brighten anyone’s days.  His smile was so genuine, always went right to his eyes.  He greeted everyone with a smile, with manners and friendship.

Jason’s love of music was apparent, even as a young child Jason could be heard singing up and down the halls of the school.  Every song was a cool song with a story behind it.

Although Jason loved his tunes, I’m not too sure if Jason would be chosen as a singer in Heavens Choir, only Jason would be able to talk his way into that one!

His friends were his friends for life, the “subdivision gang” an original member at that!  From matching tattoos with his friends for life, to being friends and supporting one another through life’s ups and downs.  These guys were devoted and dedicated to their lifelong friendship.  That is what true character is made of.

Jason loved his mom! Kiju Paul was blessed to have him as her son, he devoted his life to her.  I’m sure that their reunion was a sweet one, one that his later father and brother would have been apart of as well.

Jason Paul, you are missed and will be missed.  May the Lord wrap his arms around your children, your brothers and all your nitaps!

If you hear a special song that reminds you of him, sing it loud! Sing it with a smile!
