Condolences to the family. When last I spoke to Harry he recalled his memory of a site on an island where he dug deep to discover the space where once a keg had been buried. Of course, he also remembered how it was we youth snuck off to have a smoke, thinking he would not catch a sniff of cigarette smoke through the trees. He then reminded me of the time he had been struck by a vehicle and seriously injured while cycling. His final thought as he went inside for supper was about the time, when he was home, he took Harry and me on nice long hike to chop a machete trail from Spinnies Cove to Mahon's Lake. We had a bit of laugh because, it was not possible to sneak off for a smoke. As he walked inside, I said, "Master Corporal Dollard, thank you for your service. Rest in peace Harry, you served Canada well.

It is with deepest sympathy that we share in the loss of our second cousin, Harry and his wife Lil. We visited there every time we went to Canso. Harry would tell us about the artifacts he found around and was proud of his findings. Lil always had the teapot on and we would sit and chat with her for a while. When Harry was stationed in Sydney, Mom and I went up to the radar base to visit Harry. He will be missed from all his involvements but warmly remembered. May those memories help to ease the pain of your loss.

Sending condolences to Harry’s family a friends. Harry was an integral part of life in Canso. He was involved in so many facets of the community and for many near and far he represented the heart and soul of his community and for that he will be fondly remembered. Harry was a doer and a builder as well as a supporter. I and many others have been blessed to know him and to call him friend. May he rest in eternal grace with all his departed loved ones.

Dearest Family:
I was so sorry to read of Harry's passing. He was always such a gentleman every time I met him after I moved here to Canso. Your Mom, Lillian, was also such a beautiful lady. I miss seeing them around when I'm out and about. May Almighty God comfort your hearts and give you His peace during this time of sorrow.

I am so very sorry to learn of Harry’s passing. My first ever introduction to Harry came because of the Canso Sea Cadets. Harry was very informative during my time with the cadets and often had encouraging words to dole out. He was a very respectful man! Later on in life he always stopped to say hello or would wave as he drove by. He will be missed! Hugs to his family during this difficult time.
