I remember 1st meeting Ronnie way back around 1972 at his mobile home business in Port Hawkesbury. Carol and i were recently married and considering purchasing a mobile home. He asked a few questions and it became clear he was too busy to waste his time with newly weds barely 21 and we left out the door. Haha. Several years later our paths began there frequent meetups that lasted some 50+ years. We became quite close mostly through sports and coffees. We developed quite a friendship over the years. I’m sorry to read of his death. Condolences to the entire Beaton Family. He was a pretty good guy!

Rhonda & Mike, Sheldon & Stephanie, Cammie & Ada & all the Beaton and Milley family:
I met Ron many years ago through my dear friend, his little sister Ruthie. Ron was a very big man with a very big personality. I didn't know what to think about the big guy when I first met him. It didn't take me long to realize he also had a big heart. He always had great stories, great hugs and so much love for all of his family. I will never forget the first person I saw coming out of church from my mom's funeral........the big guy with the biggest hug!
May you rest in peace Ron in the arms of your dear Joanne.

We were just kids when Ron came into our lives, and he and Joanne just teenagers. In his efforts to cement his relationship with Joanne, he tried hard to win over all her siblings. But it became clear early on that his motives involved much more than that. Over the years Ron became more than a brother-in-law, he became our brother!! He was always there for and with us through good times and through bad. In our most challenging times he took over and made sure that everything that needed to be done got done. In our happiest of times, he and Joanne were there for us always....opening their doors on Napean Street to all of us at any time, providing whatever we needed, including caring for our dear mother in their home in her last years. They both gave us so many memories--of fun, laughter, great meals, and wonderful times together with them, Rhonda and Sheldon, and then the grandchildren. But, more importantly, they gave us all guidance(even when we didn't know we needed it), a sense of safety and security, of belonging....and an abundance of love. It was the giving and modeling of all that love that came back to them, especially in recent years, in the exceptional love and care given to them by Rhonda and Sheldon and their families. Our hearts are with you all, and with Cam and Ada and family, as you grieve this great loss.
Thank you for everything Ron--for all you have done for us. But we are especially grateful for the wonderful care you took of Joanne when she needed you most. You certainly went above and beyond in your dedication and devotion to our beautiful sister!! Although we are missing you both terribly, Isabel and I will always treasure our memories of time with you. We will never forget you, and will forever keep that image in our hearts and minds of you and Jo dancing in each other's arms.
Rest in peace brother.
Love,
Florence and Isabel

Rhonda, Sheldon and families…please accept our condolences on the loss of your father/ grandfather. He truly was a gentle giant of a man with whom we enjoyed many conversations at the many sporting events we attended. His commitment to our community and country was admirable and a testament to his character. My love of football came as a result of his enthusiasm and coaching in the Strait Minor Football program. Again our heartfelt condolences at your great loss. Bob, Colleen Morgan and Family

My deepest condolences to Rhonda & Sheldon & all the Beaton & Milley Family
Joanne & I are cousins.
In 1974 my husband Don Riding & I , with my Mom , Aunt Bin, drove from Ontario to New Waterford for our fall vacation.
Ron & Don met for the 1st time & connected immediately!
We stayed in Port Hawkesberry, with Ron & Joanne, before heading to my see my sweet Aunt Mary Ellen in New Waterford.
Ron & Joanne were the most wonderful hosts. Before leaving their cosy home Ron took Don out for a bit of a town tour.
we met up again New Waterford & so began the party!
Next meet up was ‘down the country’., where Ron & Don actually went into the water- yes it was cold October.
There are so many wonderful & crazy stories, so many happy moments!
The most important story is the love Joanne & Ron shared over their happy years together. They are together again.
I am happy to remember wonderful memories of both of them
❤️❤️
