Dear Ellarose, Allan, and families,
Ninety-two is a ripe old age by any measure but it still comes as a shock whenever your Father dies. We only saw James on special occasions — mostly weddings of late — but we certainly admired many, many of his woodworking projects and enjoyed the fruits of his extraordinary wine-making skills. We are likely to never again in our lifetimes, see a workshop as neat and well organized as James’. May all your wonderful memories of your Father, Father-in-law and Grandfather bring comfort to you all.
With love and hugs,
Michaela and Greg, Alec, and Elena

On behalf of the Purcell family, I would like to express our condolences to the Brophy family on James passing. As members of your family may know, James and Theresa were my god-parents.
Fortunately your Dad lived a great long life and you had the lengthy benefit of having him as part of your lives.

Grampy,
To say I am shocked would be an understatement, you were my biggest supporter and my first best friend. Countless days you could find me running errands alongside you, working in the garage on your next project or just hanging around the kitchen while you cooked (and you never let on if I just got in the way more than I helped). No matter where you went I was sure to be your shadow. I will cherish the hours we spent watching golf, cheering on Mike Weir and Phil Mickelson. As well as the countless hours spent picking berries (even though you insisted on picking berries on the hottest of summer days) and all the sleepovers with turtles chocolates and wheel of fortune before bed. Someday I will cook that 8 am roast turkey just like you always wanted.
Thank you for everything, always
Grampy’s little girl Hannah

Dear Ellarose, Dorraine, James and Debra, and family.
I am very sorry for your loss.
You have all been in my thoughts and prayers.
I love the picture you shared of Uncle James, it sums him up perfectly. That is how I remember him exactly.
His obituary is thoughtfully and beautifully written. Lots of great memories.
I am glad to have been able to see and visit him during his stay in Saint Richmond hospital last year. It was a good day and a good visit.
My deepest sympathies.
Love, Dianne MacNeil (macKinnon)
