To Aunt Vadie’s
One of my friends sent me this notification. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was always always in touch with me and made me feel very special. It was this past year or so that I had lost touch.with her Gordon and my father Eli were brothers. On my visits to Halifax I would visit her on
Robie Steett. My condolences to t your family. A special. Person❤️

She is at peace and free of the pain she endured for a long time. She was a great friend to my mother in law Doris Houlihan and I am forever grateful to her for all the things she did with her and for her. They met at Northwood bingo games many years ago and now will be together again. What a reunion that will be! I kept in touch since Doris died and will never forget this wonderful, kind and sweet lady. You will be missed, Vadi.

My sincere condolences to Vadie's family passing on her recent passing. I met Vadie at St. Theresa's Church in Halifax where she faithfully attended and was a treasured member of the CWL. She was a quiet lady with a warm smile for everyone. She loved Canso and I know she was happy to spend her last days close to her family and friends. May she now enjoy the eternal peace she rightfully earned. We will miss her. God Bless all of you.

Dear Alice , Theresa , Wilfred , and families...
I share your sorrow at Vadie's passing. I loved her and will miss her too. As you know ,Vadie was a neighbour and dear friend of our family for many years. Every visit she made to Canso included time spent with my mother. After my mother passed , I would visit Vadie each summer when she came "home" . She always loved to hear what everyone in our family was up to , and I always received cards from her for every special occasion.
My brother Louis never failed to visit her and Wilfred when he was in Canso. If he was able ,he would be with you at this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all .
Sincerest sympathy ,
Phyllis

Q: How did you meet Vadie?
A: I met Vadie at Canso Seaside Manor when she would visit her brother every summer for several months before returning to Halifax. She was always glad to see everyone. I admired her personal maintenance, she always looked so beautiful. She showed and told us how much she appreciated our work as caregivers. She will be greatly missed. Fly high beautiful lady ❤

Vadie was a wonderful person. I was fortunate to know her for a number of years. We met through church, when I started to drive her. Eventually we became very close. She will be greatly missed by myself and her many friends here in Halifax.
I want to offer my deepest sympathy to all the family.

Aunt Vadie was a special blend of generosity and mischief. Always kind to those she met, and also good at spreading laughter with her gentle teasing!
Her radiant energy lives on in all the family and friends she knew and loved. Our family home felt an extra level of warmth and laughter whenever she was around!
