Obituary of Yvonne Marie Dallien

Dallien, Yvonne, age 92, died peacefully at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, Sunday, January 7, 2024, with family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her sons; Peter Jr., Kevin (Theresa), and daughter; Lise (Sean). Grandsons; Nicholas, Ryan, Matthew, Granddaughter; Madison, and Great Grandson; Ben.

Yvonne was born and raised in Bathurst, New Brunswick to parents Emily and Nicholas Bertin. She was predeceased by her husband; Peter Dallien Sr. and siblings; Maurice, Aurele, Armand and Antonio.                             .

Yvonne and Peter would make Port Hawkesbury their home, where she was an active member in the community, especially with St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church. She was a well-known and respected Interior Decorator and her work could be seen in many homes, Parishes, Community Halls and business throughout the area and beyond.

Yvonne had many wonderful talents. She was an avid sewer, enjoyed doing upholstery projects and painting in her spare time. She was able to travel the world and looked forward to hosting the many dinners and parties she held for her family and friends.

Her family would like to thank the staff at The Maples Retirement Living, Nurses and Doctors at St. Martha’s Hospital and Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home for their support. 

Funeral service will take place 11 a.m., Monday, January 15, 2024 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, 724 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury with Father Joby Augustin officiating.  Burial at a later date.  A reception will follow the service in St. Joseph Parish Hall, 138 Granville Street, Port Hawkesbury. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
