Hazel M. Fry
1935 - 2024
A lifelong resident of Port Hawkesbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024, in the Valley View Villa, Riverton surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Barbara of Pictou and their children, Mike, Wabush, NL, Jennifer and her husband, Scott Phillips and great-granddaughter, Avery of Abercrombie. Her daughter, Susan and her husband, Jack Adair of Sussex, NB; daughter-in-law, Joanne Coffin (late Jim) of Port Hawkesbury and her sons, Kerry, Aiden and Josh, Halifax; her sister, Gwen, Dartmouth.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Margaret Langley; her husband, Donald William and her son, James William “Jim” and by her sisters, Marguerite, Julia and her brother, Fred.
She retired after a long teaching career at the Centennial Elementary School. In retirement she enjoyed travelling many trips down south, cruises and tour excursions to Europe and Ireland and Scotland. She had a great love of curling.
Hazel was always surrounded by great neighbors, friends, and family. If you were lucky maybe a date square or homemade butterscotch pie and tea.

Cremation has taken place. No visitation by request. Funeral service with a reception to follow will take place at St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury on Thursday, April 25 at 11 a.m. with Barb Blois-MacNaughton, DLM-R officiating. Donations to St. Mark’s United Church, Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one’s choice.
