Obituary of Harry Langley
Harry Martin Langley 1947-2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Harry Martin Langley announce his passing at the QEII Hospital in Halifax on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Harry was born in St. Martha’s Hospital Antigonish, Nova Scotia on October 6th, 1947. He was the son of the late Martin and Catherine (MacDonald) Langley.
Harry retired from the Public Service of Canada (Canadian Coast Guard) in 2013 after 35 years of service.
Harry is survived by his wife Stephanie MacInnis-Langley; daughter Nicolle and son Jason (Krista) Langley and beloved granddaughters Cali and Jorja Langley. He is survived by brothers John David and Arthur Langley; by sisters in law Cheryl (Ken) Brothers, Michele (David) Fox; nephews, Paul (Zandra MacInnis) White, Darryl (Jacqueline) White, Barry (Ashley) White, Adam (Ayla) Fox, Christopher (Danielle) Fox. He will be missed by his lifelong friends, Greg Castle, Robert Urquhart, Dougie Beaton, Donnie King, John MacLeod Langley, Russell Langley, Gordon and Iaian Langley and his sailing buddies Brian (Murielle) MacNeil.
Harry’s life revolved around family, his favorite times were with family and friends. He was an amazing father, a good friend and the kindest and most generous man you would ever have the good fortune to meet. A phone call to Harry always meant support was on the way. He had multiple gifts, the gift of gratitude, faith, love, laughter, and the patience of a saint. Harry lived every minute of every day his way, he was such a bright light for all of us to follow.

Visitation will take place Friday, September 13th, 2024 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church Port Hawkesbury with Father Dan MacDonald officiating.
