We have known Joe & Marlene for about 50 years and we have always enjoyed being with them. We made a trip back to the area a few years ago and Joe & Marlene welcomed us into a their home, it was so wonderful to spend time with them again. Joe even made us our breakfast. They were so hospitable and we had so much to get caught up on. It was almost like we had never moved away.
We now very much treasure that last visit together!

I am glad for all of the years I have had my Father . Not everyone is so fortunate . He was there throughout my life willing to step in at a hint of necessity and get things back on track no matter what it may have been . He was able to get to know my husband and children and even spent time with us in Ontario as well as in Alberta . When we have had troubled times , as many have , Dad was sure to remind us how much he loved us and was there for us . We were so fortunate to have chosen this year to have an extended trip home that allowed us to celebrate Mom and Dads 60 th wedding anniversary . Along with the celebration , we had no idea just how important this time would come to be . He will be loved and missed .

Joe, you were a true family man who loved and protected his family. Hardworking, and as I often heard folks say, 'as tough as nails'. Your woodpile was the envy of many and a testament that winter wasn't going to get ahead of you. I know that you loved to fish, and I remember a story that I heard of you diving into Goose Harbour Lake to retrieve your favorite lure that got snagged. I enjoyed our card games and never tired of hearing you call Marlene, darling. Oh, and could you dance! I really liked you Joe - you made me smile. Will miss see that familiar face.

Would like ta send Condolences to the Families n Friends of Joe I recall hearing about Him , His Brother Stanley, n Others use to come to Our house dancing in the living room with the 45's 78's 33's records. Guess Ya would call them house parties back then.

We are so fortunate to have had two such strong parents that showed us how to be a good human being .Dad had so many strengths. Avid hunter, fisherman, loving dad. Always willing to help others No matter big or small tasks. Checking in on neighbors. Dad had so many talents .Whenever any of us siblings needed him he would always be right there talking us through it or just supporting us & loving us.
